Notes in Contacts Broken in iOS 12

in the contact if you enetr a new contact you cant add notes iin the notes field like you used to. existing contacts notes are still there and can be edited.

is there a fix?

I have a new iPhone XR and am experiencing the same issue. Not resolved by restarting the iPhone

I had the same problem but now in 12.1 it looks like you can’t add new notes but if you tap on the notes or just below it twice it’s now working, at least for me it is

I may have mistakenly assumed that I need to press Edit to edit the Notes - instead of realising that Edit was more about the page layout and labels

I can’t ad notes anymore to my contacts on my IPHONE 7

I downloaded Contacts, no change. The word Nites is black for me as well but nada.

I’m on 12.1.2 on 6S.

I’ll see what the Apple store says....

iPhone 6 can’t edit notes field in. Contacts iOS 12.1.4 Why ?

Taping below the word “Notes” worked for me. Don’t need to hit Edit.

taping above or on top will not activate the writing box.

I have the latest software on all devices. I added a note to one of my contacts on my MacBook Air several days ago and it has not transferred to my iPhone 8 plus or my iPad
