Is this a legitimate request from Apple

I have been getting this pop up for several days. It doesn't sound legit because Apple usually tells me why changes are needed. If it is not legit, how do I get rid of it? I usually just move it out of the way, but they are starting to pile up.

Others have reported this particular dialog went away after running the free Malwarebytes anti-malware utility. It is safe, and many of us both use and recommend it.

I receive absolutely no compensation, or other consideration from the vendor for mentioning their application here.
