Manually tag Face in Photos to show under People?

How can I manually tag someone in photos?

I am currently creating separate albums to do what People was designed to do because it is not doing what it is supposed to and it’s getting old. Any tricks you have would be appreciated.

As as an example, I am in a photo with my son, People only recognizes me as a Face so I can’t even add his name so that would show under his album.

Yes, I’ve checked out these pages (multiple times to make sure I didn’t miss something simple), and no, they aren’t of any help- please don’t refer me here. Thank you!!!

This part of the macOS Sierra article didn't help?

"Click the Info button in the toolbar. Click the Add button , drag the circle to position it over the face if necessary, type a name, then press Return.

"You can click the Add button multiple times to identify multiple faces in a photo. To remove the name from a face click the Remove button on the person."

I do wish there was a corresponding way to do it iOS.
