I have a problem with thumbnails (jpg, svg, pdf and other graphic files) on my desktop.
Does anyone know how it can be solved?

Yeah, I've also tried a lot of stuff. Actually I've another Mac OS 10.14 device which doesn't have such a problem. Looks like we all have to wait for next update where this issue will be fixed (hopefully).
To my mind the problem is related with libraries or cache somehow.
I tried to reinstall OS from the external USB, and this helped only for some files, some thumbnails was recognized. But after an hour after installation, this process become broken again. For example, folders and files that I opened after new installation are ok, but others still not working and not recognized too. It looks like some Finder processes are conflicting between each other.
This is a weird solution, but it's worked twice. I downloaded and installed a free graphics program (first time Gapplin, second time Krita) and had a folder with svgs open after I opened the graphics program. After relaunching Finder, the svg previews started showing up. This stopped working after the first time with Gappling, so I installed Krita the second time and now they're working again. Leaving this here for anyone who really needs this fixed.
That works on the halfway. It's really strange.
There is a problem related with cache I guess.
I updated it to version 10.14.1 beta. The problem still exists (
Try force quit of finder.
It will auto relaunch
I've tried that already, also tried to restart the system and it's still doesn't work unfortunately.
You could run a utility like onyX, its a freebie
That rebuilds destop icons
There is no Mojave compatible version of Onyx yet.

It should not be long though. They are normally very quick.
Another thought
If you boot in safe mode.
then do a normal boot.
I think that clears the icon cache out.
Try duplicating the 1_wood.jpg
see if it shows correctly.

I've tried to make a copy, but it still doesn't work correct.
The thing is a need to try to clear all the cache. That might help I guess
there is some terminal command that can do that.

Absolutely the same problem. Tried to restart, clean cache and etc. Nothing helps.
Works only for a few file types.
