MacBook Pro keeps rebooting after Mojave install

I am having the same issue. I have macbook late 2013. When I had the same issue before on high sierra upgrade I took it to the apple store and they charged me over $400 to change the board. Now I am having exactly the same thing on Mojave update! I think they don’t really give a **** about old model issues. They expect you to get a new one. I will try to downgrade to Sierra and see if the problem continues

I have the same model. It keeps on restarting randomly. Thought it might of been an app I have so I shut down everything. Was only using chrome and my max keeps restarting randomly still. Trying to go back to Sierra using time machine.

I may try the route you've mentioned with disabling spotlight index if I'm going to upgrade again. I do like the dark mode feature.

Logs in the Console does not contain anything useful. I disabled every app until there was nothing left but Chrome. I thought it was an app that may have caused this. It still randomly shuts down. Will not upgrade unless this is fixed.

Exact same problem. I’m unable to use my Mac Book Pro 2017 for more than 5 mins at a time before it crashes if I’m lucky.

Apple just wants us to spend money by getting service done on it when it’s clearly an issue EVERYONE is having. I’m so frustrated!

I totally would try it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to turn it on at all with all the codes and normal troubleshooting I know of since yesterday. I'm about to surrender and get a Black Friday chromebook (sorry apple, I love you but...)

Since upgrading to Mojave whenever the MacBook wakes from sleep for an extended period of time (e.g. overnight) I see the following kernel panic message on startup:

"Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up".

NB. The BSD process name listed in the panic seems to vary between a variety of threads, e.g. kernel_task; WindowsServer; Sophos Endpoint; coreaudiod; universalaccessd.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Same problem here on a 2012 MBP 15" Retina SSD 16GB. Spent 2 days cleaning, reinstalling, etc without success. Very frustrating. Upgrading to Mojave has been a nightmare. I have been performing music publicly for the las 3 days with this issue ruining my work. After another gig I have in a couple of hours, first thing I'll do tomorrow is working out how to downgrade to High Sierra.

I followed your advice and am happy to report that I just finished a 5 hour session without any problems. Before that, I couldn't go for 15 minutes straight without my mac rebooting. So far so good with your solution. Thanks for sharing it. Although it will take some time before I can have peace of mind knowing that the issue lies dormant waiting to spook me at the worst possible moment!

Thumbs UP! Went a full day yesterday working at home with intense disk activity trashing old and unused apps, backing up stuff, upgrading to most recent versions on other apps and more - and then to a 7 hour session djing off of my MBP, and am happy to report that the issue seems to be resolved. Uncle Rod's solution appears to be on point. If any Apple devs happen to read this, do look into the Energy Saver function as the culprit, as a certain combination of settings will result in frequent spontaneous system reboots.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. The 2-day testing I did that went without incident, was with the power adapter connected. I recently tried using my MBP without the battery connected and about 10 minutes I got a reboot again. Moreover, as was the case sometimes with past unwanted reboots, upon logging in again, I get a black screen. I now the computer is on because you can see the lit keyboard, but the only way to get out of that black screen is to force restart the computer. Bummer. Is there any way we could monitor Apple's awareness or progress with this non isolated issue?
