At minimum, you should be running Remote Desktop 10.2.1 that was updated a month ago. If not, try that before contacting Microsoft. They may have to recompile against Mojave SDK, or initiate other fixes.
I gave up on the piece of poo official Microsoft RDP client years ago because it only works with US keyboards.
Try instead this free alternative - Parallels Client on the Mac App Store which works with both US and International keyboards.
Moving Symantec seems to have worked.
Do you have an anti-virus package installed? Or something like LittleSnitch? Is it possible something is blocking your connection on Mojave?
How about removing the anti-virus. They are generally nothing but problems on Macs. And Macs include their own protections.
I tried that.
I also have a ticket into Microsoft.

Turning of Symantec Endpoint Protection did not help.
Parellel Client will not connect either - good thought to try another software
