Any update on when iOS will have a date/time stamp feature?
I have recently become frustrated by how frequently I type the current date- multiple times per day. Most often, I am entering text into notetaking apps. For example, I use my iPad with Microsoft OneNote extensively for all of my case notes in my law practice, including in-court notes. I begin the title of each note with the date, and I keep my notes ordered by date. So you cannot imagine how many times I type the date in one day. I know that most apps have a date-time stamp when you create a note, and I am grateful to have those stamps. I use those stamps. But those stamps don’t meet all of my needs. I still have to type the date. I have started using Google Keep for some things, and as with OneNote, the first thing I type in a note is the date. I also use apple’s Notes extensively for some things, and it shows the date where I can see it in the list of notes. That is great. But not all apps do that. Notes is wonderful, but it’s functionality doesn’t fit all of my notetaking needs and I have different areas of my life in different apps, for various reasons. Besides, even in Notes, if I add to an older note, the first thing is do is type the date I am making the entry. I type the date A LOT. If I could write a macro that would put the functionality into my on-screen keyboard, I would do it. If only Apple would do it! Numbers has this function for individual cells. There is a special keyboard with a “Today” key. But even in Numbers, I find myself typing in the date in a comment. It seems that it would be so easy to put that functionality on the keyboard. We could have settings for the keyboard where we chose the format for the date, and/or a group of format selections could appear on screen when you long-press the key. Is Apple considering this?
