Blank CDs Not Showing on Desktop
This is happening since updating to Mojave. Is there some setting I'm missing? I do see the disk when I open Disk Utility.

I am seeing the same problem after installing Mojave. I did discover a work-around until Apple gets the bug fixed. With Finder selected, go to File>New Burn Folder
Then put the files into it that you want to burn and burn as you normally would. It works for me. It's a few extra steps from what I usually do but at least I am able to burn my backup Bluray discs.
That's about it. Be sure top report the bug to Apple with this link: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html
What is set in Finder Preferences > General tab?
Exactly what happens here. The blank CD icon does not appear on the desktop, but I can record to it in iTunes. I could not drop files onto it since I can't see it!
I cannot see it in iTunes or the finder, but if it is in my drive and I select a playlist and do a burn to disc command, it does burn it to the disc.
Just to make sure: this is only happening with blank -RW disks, right?
Yes but I haven’t tried with a blank DVD or CD-R
What machine do you have? Do you have a built in optical drive? Mine is external to my new 27" iMac..
Tis a puzzlement.
Maybe that command only appears when a blank disc is inserted.
I just plugged in my burner and now I see the command in the file menu.
You are correct. I unplugged my burner and that option goes away
Or download a piece of freeware named Burn, which can be found at
SAME PROBLEM HERE! It will read what's on a CD and Cd will show up on desktop. But if you put a blank one in it will not show up on desktop, no noises as if loading nothing
