Screen on Macbook pro 13 inch has bottom one third greyed out. Any ideas from anyone?

MacBook Pro 13 inch has bottom one third of screen greyed out. Greyed out area has faint vertical lines on it and the cursor "disappears" behind the grey area when scrolled down. Any ideas?

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. It's important to be able to see the whole screen. The first thing to do is boot up in recovery mode and see if the issue is happening there. This will tell you if the issue is software or hardware.

Hold down Command-R or one of the other macOS Recovery key combinations on your keyboard immediately after pressing the power button to turn on your Mac, or immediately after your Mac begins to restart.
