No input signal in Logic Pro X

Hello

I don't seem to be able to get any input in logic! My Scarlett 2i2 shows as receiving signal, but the faders in logic show nothing. I have read a lot of other discussions where people were having the same problem, however none of their solutions have worked for me.

I have restarted my mac, restarted the programme, tried all of the inputs (including the built in microphone, which does not show any input either), tried with all of the different outputs, tried using different cables/mics/guitars, tried disabling/enabling core audio and software monitoring and unplugging/plugging in my interface. I have tried a few other things too but I can't recall them off of the top of my head. I can't seem to find the problem after all this. All MIDI functions still work, and I can play back anything that I have recorded, before this problem started a few days ago, just fine.

I suspect it is some very minor which I am overlooking, and it might just be a case of someone else pointing it out!

Any help is welcomed!

I tried EVERYTHING except that one little click thinking, If I let the microphone have input, it's going to SQUEAL!!!!!

Thank you for saving my sanity!!!!
