Exchange Account disappears in Mail

Hello,


I'm trying to setup my exchange email in the mail app on my MacBook. I'm using Version 10.14. I have another live account that seems to sync properly but my exchange doesn't.


Basically, through the mail app I enter my work email and it prompts me to login which works. All of the emails start downloading to the mail app but a few seconds later everything disappears and the account is removed also from the list.


I've done this about 5 times so far and it keeps happening. Anyone else having this problem?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, 4 TBT3), macOS Mojave (10.14)

Open Keychain Access in Utilities, enter the part after the @ sign in the search bar, hit enter


You may have multiple entries.  You can edit them or delete them & start over.

Same story here. Removed all the exchange references in the keychain, still the same story. Exchange account gets created and starts downloading emails, then mystically disappears. Tried several time, always the same result. Installed MS Outlook and added the account, works perfectly, just can link the Apple calendar to it. Tried to create the account out of Apple calendar, same. Started to work, then disappears. Tried also to create an application password in the Exchange settings online. Does not work either. This is a big bug of 10.14.

I have this same problem. I have a large Exchange mailbox and it adds it and starts downloading messages,,, and then half an hour later it prompts for my Exchange password again and then removes the account. I've tried removing and re-adding the account. I had our professional IT guy work on it, and he's stumped. He tried deleting different files, re-installing....


I finally gave up and switched to Outlook. Would love a fix....

I have the same problem with workplace Exchange account that is hosted on outlook365.com. My security is handled by my institution using Shibolleth login.


Things I've tried that don't help:

(1) Deleting Keychain entries

(2) Logging in manually instead of automatically.

(3) Rebooting

(4) Entering account via system preferences vs. via OS X Mail.


I can get my mail on my iPhone and on my Macbook Air, but the account disappears on my desktop iMac.

Hello ppl, after tons of attempts i finally got my personally best set-up.

As i read before the crucial fork is the automatic vs manual configuration:


At this point i got this:

  • MANUAL:
    1. you have to put your password directly
    2. it's "less" exchange then manual
    3. i can flag every option as contacts, notes... (which i prefer)


  • AUTOMATIC:
    1. you login through the Exchange window
    2. i can flag only mail and calendars (not enough for me)


I've tried everything, rebooting, removing all exchange keys from keychain, entering account from osx preference panel vs mail panel, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

So i'm pretty sure it's a mojave bug.

I run through this issue only now because I've an other problem. A specific exchange shared calendar disappeared form iCalendar, i see events where i'm invited but i can't see anymore this Shared Calendar.


After the configuration i still have this issue.

I am also having this problem with one of my exchange accounts. It started by telling me that I needed to re-enter my password and would not accept it even after several days of trying. I finally removed the account and was able to readd it. Since then I have had to frequently readd it because it will only stay in the mail app long enough to sync before removing itself again.


This is very frustrating but it's reassuring to see that I am not the only one having this issue.

My exchange account is a work account too. I can't just change the user. I've also tried deleting keychain entries after removing the exchange account to no avail. Still having issues on every device using Mojave. The time in which it disappears varies though. Sometimes its 30 seconds, while other times it'll remain for a day before disappearing.

I'm having the same problem. Exchange mail, calendar, contact etc worked just fine until yesterday I reset my password. Now I'm in the same pain as everybody on this thread: it disappears after a few minutes. I have 2 other Exchange accounts from other domains which still work just fine.

Mail also says, in the left bottom corner below my accounts, that I have 6501 new messages. I have only 1500 messages in all my inboxes added up. Weird!


I tried:

Setting up manually and just signing in - no difference.

Rebooting - no difference.
