Update Apple ID settings

iPhone 6S running iOS 12.0:

I recently tried to remove a duplicated device listed under Settings>(my account) on my iPhone. The entry was removed, but shortly after I was prompted to "Update Apple ID settings". I am being prompted to enter the password for my OLD apple ID. I changed the apple ID months ago.

I have tried to log out of my current Apple ID account, I have changed the password on my current apple id account, but the prompt still remains. When I try to use the "forgot password" function with the old ID it says it isn't an Apple ID. Help?
