Cover flow missing - Mojave Gallery is no replacement?

Why would Apple replace Cover flow with gallery? They are different

1st - Cover flow was a fast and informative method of scrolling thru visual files quickly as images, while also viewing a list of data below. I could see any data I wanted, dates, sizes, and critical COMMENTS that I make with all my files. As I work I NEED to see that data when scrolling thru images!

2nd - I Prefer the vertical nature of Cover flow because I could open multiple narrow windows, and nest them beside one another. I cannot open multiple windows of Gallery and do the same, inefficient use of screen space and lack of data.

3rd - And worst - Gallery does NOT support mouse scrolling??? due to the horizontal nature of the gallery file list.

Horrible design

PLEASE BRING BACK COVERFLOW !! Add it in addition to Gallery for those of us who depend on it for our work

Other than Path Finder, you can still download Finder from El Capitan and use that (I can send you a link if you need it). File Cabinet Pro has a Cover Flow View. https://apptyrant.com/file-cabinet-pro-help/ and so does Panic's Transmit (also a full File Editor) https://panic.com/transmit/

I still really miss it built into Finder though! (the Capitan version doesn't work in Dark Mode)

Just to point out, there are 100's of millions of Mac users. Even if 10,000 users posted here about Cover Flow, that is a very small drop in a very large bucket.

like you said, it's the value over actual monetary setback. Considering having other necessary programs that ACTUALLY warrant a fee on a monthly basis for work, adding on another bill for a feature that was free before -but now having to find an alternative to bring back by paying for it is not arguable or defendable on any front.

Agreed, paulfromcoledale. That's what happened when Jobs was forced out of Apple, in 1985. Although I'm A geek, myself, I must say that it should be clear to anyone (including geeks) that it was Apple's focus on technology and downplaying user interface in their marketing, during those years, that almost destroyed Apple and would have, if Jobs had not returned in 1997. Geek stuff is great. But user interface is king. It's beginning to look like Apple may be losing their focus on user interface. Hopefully, all those comments that I and others have been leaving on Apple's feedback page will help get them back on track. We NEED Cover Flow.

I totally agree. Please fix soon so I can scroll quickly with my mouse! Otherwise, it's worth going back to High Sierra.

I wouldn't count on it changing anytime soon if ever. You may want to downgrade or try Path Finder 8. It still has Cover Flow.
