Apple TV Atmos problems

Just set up my new home theater system and love it, but having problems with sound working when the Atmos on the Apple TV is enabled. Movies that are rated for Atmos will not play sound at all, but movies in other formats work fine. If I turn off Atmos support on the Apple TV everything works fine. My Apple TV is running through my Receiver which is a Pioneer Elite Model:VSXLX503/US. Has anyone else fell into the problem or having issues with any Pioneer receiver and Apple TV. Please Help if you have a solution would hate to have to return the receiver.

I have a Pioneer receiver VSX-LX302.

Dolby Atmos works with Apple TV 4K. You need to set the Pioneer settings to 7.1 audio and the Apple TV to Atmos.

The problem I have is that when I set the Apple TV to Auto, Atmos, it plays Movies with Atmos perfectly, but all other movies revert to PCM sound. It should not do that. It should revert to the actual sound format of the movie, which is normally dolby digital 5.1

They only way I can get those to work with Apple TV is to set the Pioneer receiver to 5.1 audio.

It is a real nuisance to manually change the settings to match the audio content of the movie.

I don't have this problem with my Sony 4k BlueRay player
