Does anyone know if the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV's will have the Disney Now app pushed to them? I noticed a month ago that all of the Disney apps, "Watch Disney/Junior/XD," had a banner at the top of the screen saying that support for these will end 27 SEP 2018, and that we needed to download the Disney Now app. As of today, Disney has kept their promise. Since theses Apple TV's do not have access to the App Store, I'm unable to do so. Please advise. Thanks!
The 2nd and 3rd Gen don’t run apps, just preset content sent via server. The 2nd Gen is obsolete and no longer supported, with some current providers also pulling support. The 3rd Gen is discontinued and likely heading in the same direction. You would need to contact Disney to verify their plans for that model.

If it occurs while using basic airplay as well as mirroring then that means they have blocked streaming from IOS, just as they’ve stoped support for the old Apple TV. Unfortunately it would mean getting a new model in order to view that content on the tv.
Apple supports their hardware longer than most, and the hardware literally cannot support the current OS nor does it have the capacity for apps.

No luck on my end, either. I've taken to downloading DisneyNow on our other Apple devices and just mirroring them to the TV... not the most convenient but still doable.
I tried mirroring a TV show from Disney Now via my iPhone X to an older Appletv and it wouldn’t allow me. If you’re in the Disney Now app and attempt to screen mirror to your Appletv; the app will stop playing the content and a “#BUMMER” window displays letting you know to turn off screen mirroring to continue playing the video.
Has anyone else had this happen? Do we really need to buy a new Appletv to watch content from Disney?

Sounds like they are basically making us all buy a new model. Having the same problem. Just frustrating.
