How do I get Logic Pro 8 to recognize Behringher UMC1820?

How do I get Logic Pro 8 to recognize my Behringher UMC1820? Have checked that the device has been recognized on my mac mini (OSX snow leopard 6.8) and all seems ok. Just cant get logic to recognize any in/outs other than the built in jacks. The audio menu on preferences only offers the built in inputs. Its probably a simple few clicks but .........

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Logic Pro 8.0.0 (1437.23)

“…………10.6 (Snow Leopard) may have even more restrictions while operation. For UMC1820: the interface can only be used in S/PDIF mode (“OPT I/O” switch not pressed in). ADAT operation is NOT supported by this OS X version……….”

What are the components of the aggregate device in Audio MIDi Setup?

UMC could be a part of the aggregate device (that's why it may not be listed as a separate audio interface). If it is, you'll have to choose aggregate device as Input and Output in Logic's Preferences. Another option would be to remove aggregate device and use available interfaces separately.

In any case, please provide screenshots of Audio MIDI Setup (audio devices window), and as much details about your setup as possible.

Hi JotaGi

Many thanks for the speedy reply, its truly appreciated. In answer the aggregate device defaults to the built in I/Os. Ive tried creating a new aggregate device but still got the two built in I/Os. (see pictures). The umc is still showing up as an offline midi device when it should be on line. Attempts to get logic to find the UMC I/Os are still not working.

When I plug in the usb from the UMC to the mac I get a panic reboot message on the screen. In desperation I tried to install the UMC on my pc, Downloaded the drivers and it refused to launch (See jpg).

Am I being a muppet or it the device faulty? Have contacted the store that sold it to me but as yet have not had a reply?
