Safari is slow after Mojave update

My Macbook 13" 2015 has the same problem. Sometimes the Safari stay everything black and stopped the computer.

I don't have any problems with others Browsers, I was waiting for an Update and until today has nothing.

I've also had a serious issue with safari after updating to Mojave. I've noticed the problem for safari on my MBP is mostly surrounding google owned companies such as youtube, gmail, google search engine, google drive, etc. I use all of these on a daily basis so it would be really helpful if Apple stepped in and figured this problem out. I love to use safari but this issue has really turned the tables.

Peter I experienced the same problem with Safari. Die hard Apple guy here. I have used Safari forever, but it became way to slow. Forget removing the cookies and browser history. Forget the Adblocker. I was forced to move on to Firefox with its built in adblocker. Firefox is lightening fast. It took a short while to complete the switch, customizing Firefox to look just like Safari..... only faster ... lol.... Apple must look into this .

I have the same problem - MacBook Pro MacOS 10.14. I think the whole system slows down when Safari is active. No problem with Chrome or Firefox. I have had to give up using Safari.

Same problem, none of those steps help. Switched over to Google Chrome until Safari is fixed.

I have the same issue in YouTube and also it hangs when I try search within youtube.

I've tried all the above troubleshooting but nothing changed and I still have the same problem.

I believe Apple should intervene in this issue.

I have the same issue. Some web sites seem to work ok, but others, like amazon, are unusable. I thought maybe my laptop was too old for Mojave (I'm using a 2015 Macbook Air), but Chrome is flying. I've basically had to switch to Chrome as well. Safari is mostly unusable now

I had the same problem as you mentioned and it turned out to be the Adblocker Pro extension. Perhaps you're also using an adblocker extension (uBlock?) and that might be the cause. Now I have to look for another Adblocker 😟

I have to use chrome for some things like Google forms, and now I've been using it much more. It works with adblock plus well, but now safari doesn't at all.

I'm not a fan of chrome generally, but now the update doesn't work in full screen--quite annoying!

I have the same problem. Overall the speed of Mac has slowed down, and especially in Safari, PDF files are not formatting correctly on Zooming in. They split in two half in a non-readable and unacceptable fashion. The words get distorted etc.

Same problem on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017), 3,5 GHz Intel Core i5, 24 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 - with no 3rd party plugins installed on Safari.

The loading of websites in Safari is very slow & laggy 😐

let me ask you, what did you do with Safari? Since the Mojave released, the Safari is very slow, laggy, slow graphics, slow scrolling. Two-finger zooming is very slow also. In the meantime the Chrome is running smoothly, fast and responsive. If you need more information or any log file, please let me know, and please check the connected thread in your community forum. And, in case you release a new version of MacOS, please add this version to this feedback form, beacuse I already updated the system to 10.14.3 and I can't select the correct version here. Perfect.

Feedback - Safari - Apple

I also use Safari and after downloading Mojave my computer is so slow it's killing me!. I have never had this problem. I contacted Century Link . . . got an email that they couldn't find a problem with email on their end. I contacted Apple Support and we erased a duplicate photo program and that didn't help. I have lots of room on my computer and this slowdown happened after the Mojavi update.
