Space gray vs silver?

I'm ready to order a new 15" MacBook Pro, and see that they're available in space gray or in silver. Apart from the fact that silver appears to be somewhat lighter, I'm having trouble figuring out from pictures exactly how these will look in person. For example, in our family we have two MacBooks (one from 2015 and one from several years earlier), and an iPad that's a couple of years old. Their cases all look the same silver-gray color to me.

Is there any good way I can see how space gray and silver differ, besides looking at pictures on the web or going in to an Apple Store? For example, is there somewhere I can enter the serial number for our existing MacBooks to see what their color is called?
