Double NAT

I am reseting my Time Capsule and i have to add a double NAT. What is this and how do I find it?

If you have one router.. and then plug a second router into the first.. you will have a situation called double NAT.


NAT is the actual type of router used in the home setup of connecting many clients to one internet connection.


It is best if you use just one NAT router.. if that is the modem then allow it to be modem router and the Time Capsule can run in bridge mode.


Why do you need to run double NAT? There are situations where it is necessary.. like using cheap end ISP, building ethernet connection, wireless iSP or satellite where they use private IP addresses.. and then double NAT is necessary.
