Homepod speakers audio delays 2sec, while watching VLC movie on Ipad

So i have two Homepod speakers in Stereo, thought they will be good also for watching movies. I use VLC player app for movies, the audio is actually going out for the speakers, but with 2sec delays, it is not in sincron with the movies. Really bugging, makes the film unwatchable.

My hardware,

Ipad Pro 2 64GB with IOS 12

Two Homepod speakers with IOS 12

Is this problem the mistake by Apple or the VLC player is not well written for this use?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2

Use VLC’s “audio delay” sliders to solve this issue. At least thats how I do it 👍-1F3FB;

I believe it is, to some degree, an inherent issue when routing audio over Wi-Fi, but you could use Feedback - HomePod - Apple to ask Apple to make it work better. For video it ought to be possible to introduce a delay in the image. It might even be possible to get an iOS device to detect the lag in real time and compensate accordingly.
