I have now had my iPhone X for 4 months and the screen locks up 3-4 times every day. Reset after reset and it does no good. I never had this with any of my other iPhones You would thing that after 1,000’s of complaints on this problem they would have come up with a fix by now.

Did you restore to factory settings and set up as new?
I've had my iPhone X since it was released, and I've never experienced the screen locking up once, let alone 3-4 times a day. You say that you have reset the device. That is only a single step in troubleshooting. You have more to work with, such as restore a backup, restore to factory and setting up as new, and finally, a Genius Bar appointment.
Yes I have done all those things. You are very lucky. If you Google iPhone X screen lockup you will find dozens of hits leading to what is over a 1000 people with the same problem.
After my trip to the Apple store which took me 3 days to get an appointment my phone worked fine for 1 day then started again. Went back to the Apple store as a walk-in and was told they knew about the problem and some of the phones had a firmware problem that a fix was coming.
That was a month ago.
Still waiting and getting more aggravated each day.
I had the X since it was released.
I did not have a single issue.
1000 people out of Millions is not even 1 percent.
Far from a disaster.
Basically the iPhone X is a disaster
