Preview - Selecting multiple pdf pages

In Preview, I did a search on a pdf resulting in numerous thumbnails. I want to click on several of the individual thumbnails to print. The help function says I can do this by using command-click on each thumbnail and then print them all. But command-click does not seem to work that way -- I can select only one thumbnail at a time. Does anyone know how I can select several individual pages so I can click them all in one batch? Thanks.

I am using Mac OS 10.13.6 and Preview version 10.0.

(I could not find a Preview or PDF community, so I sent to Pages)

Preview is a macOS tool, and its community is the High Sierra Community. I just verified the ability to select contiguous, and non-contiguous thumbnails in a multiple page PDF using Preview on High Sierra 10.13.6, and Mojave 10.14. You continously hold down the command key, and then click on the choice of thumbnails.
