Re: Two-Factor Authentication Support using NFC key.

Wondering if anyone has had any success in using the Yubikey Neo with the iPhone 7 Plus.

According to Yubico, the iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 11 or greater should be able to support one-time passcode, two factor authentication using the iPhone's NFC reader. The one caveat being that one use supported apps like LastPass, for example.

I haven't been able to get my Yubikey Neo to work. I'm wondering if there are any settings within iOS that I may have to change in order to even have the Yubikey be recognized.

Would appreciate some help.

Thanks everyone!

Howdy --

I'm afraid I've had only sporadic success with the Neo on my iPhone 7. Had it working several times, and then stopped. I have an iPhone 8+ now and a Yubikey 5, and am getting nada.

With an NFC scanning app, I'm able to verify that the phone sees the Yubikey via NFC, but LastPass gives me no joy, even after overhauling my settings within LastPass.

I'm scratching my head as to where the error lies. I suspect some update in the NFC SDK didn't get accounted for in recent builds of LastPass.

Judging from the relatively low number of hits on Google regarding the subject, I think we are a fairly niche market at the moment and not a priority.
