I am unable to get the iPhone icon to show up in iTunes12. I have tried switching USB ports, restarting both, resetting iPhone, still not showing up.
iPhone shows up in the USB device tree.
iPhone 6s, iOS 12, iTunes12.8.0.150
I upgraded to iTunes 12.8.0.150 and after a lengthy install and an odd additional install that was required for the iPhone, it’s now appearing.
First time I’ve been able to sync my phone in years since they suckered me into upgrading the iOS and I couldn’t downgrade it to work with snow leopard. Funny-I could sync with windows but NOT my mac. What’s wrong with this picture? Hello apple ?! See why your stock is going down?
Couldn’t upgrade my laptop until software I was using was updated for newer OS. Now running high Sierra but feel like I’m using the 8 pack of crayons rather than the 64 pack that snow leopard had. iTunes 10 still blows away 12!
Now off my soapbox....

Do you have any third-party security software installed on your Mac? If so, you should uninstall it from your computer.
