My Mac Pro (2009) gets kernel panics whenever I start certain applications

Ive tried fixing it before, going through as much troubleshooting as possible such as booting into Safe mode, performing the Hardware Test, Updating or reinstalling the OS, etc.

However, as of late, it seems to run fine, I can work on the internet and spend as much time as I'd like and it will not shutdown and restart. The only instances so far after two tests of seeing what could possibly cause it to receive a kernel panic was when I tried to open Steam. Thing being that since I had wiped the whole computer, I had just freshly installed Steam once again.

This is the panic report I received after it had restarted:

I'd really like to have this Mac fixed, and I honestly do not want to go and spend money at the Apple Store to find out it was something I could've fixed myself.

In these Macs, Hardware is watching each and every read from memory. If it reads a pattern that has a single error, the cycle is stretched and the check bits tell the hardware which bit is in error and it is corrected in one stretched memory cycle.

If it reads a pattern that has a double-bit error, it cannot be corrected, and a machine check occurs, and the machine halts on the error. a machine check will be detected by multiple processors, and the report will show that.

Normal kernel panics and Machine check kernel panics are handled differently. These memory panics could occur anywhere, and the routine that encountered the error is not significant.

The next time your Mac starts up, it does a start-up test of all the RAM. Since these errors can be transient, all modules may pass. That does not make your memory just fine again, it just means "no fault found". It's still bad, and it will be caught failing again and again until you replace it.

So I'm assuming from your response and the article you posted, basically the RAM runs fine until a certain application starts, and it then goes bad? I went to Memory in "About this Mac" and all four slots of RAM state a status of OK. Im also going to take into account quitting Malwarebytes because as I think about it, I did get Malwarebytes before this started happening, so it could be the issue. However, looking at a previous post from someone who had a similar issue, when the Panic Report stated " BSD process name corresponding to current thread: xxxxx", it showed a stem of the application which traced back to the issue, being the application was causing the kernel panics, yet with mine, it states "kernel_task"
