iOS 12 on iPad swapped the Keyboard Switch and Special Character keys on the keyboard, any way to swap them back?

After upgrading my iPad to iOS 12, whenever I want to type down a number or a special character, instead I accidentally change to another keyboard, whether it be emojis or other language. And it is so annoying. This is because these two keys (as per subject) have been swapped in iOS12.

Apple, way did you change this? Any possibility to swap them back to as they were in iOS 11 or earlier? Or please allow to choose order in “Settings”.

Apple just recently fixed this with a small update.

Indeed, Google's keyboard (Gboard) has "proper" (i.e. old) order of these two keys.

You could try a 3rd party keyboard from the app store and see if they are any different.
