Cannot change trusted phone number on iphone 6 (IOS 12)

Hi all,

I have already changed my mobile and using right now.

But, I can't change trusted phone number with new one. I didn't get verification code for change.

Two-Step code is okay.

That's why account phone number is new one and trusted number is old. Currently I doesn't use old number.

So, how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

iPhone 6, iOS 12

Greetings, kyawlynn.

I see that you've gotten a new phone number. The problem is, you're unable to change the trusted phone number to receive verification codes for your Apple ID. I'm happy to help.

About two-step verification and SMS -- The trusted phone number on your Apple ID is updated by editing your credentials in the Security section of the Apple ID account page.

Add or remove an SMS number

  1. Sign in to your Apple ID account page.
  2. In the Security section, click Edit.
  3. Click Add a Trusted Phone number.
  4. To add a number, enter the phone number and verify it with a text.
  5. To remove a number, click User uploaded file next to the phone number you want to remove.

Take care!

Thank you for getting back to us, kyawlynn. It's appreciated. Please use the steps below to remove your old phone number from your Apple ID.

Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime -- The trusted phone number on your Apple ID is updated by signing out of both Messages and FaceTime, then signing back in. It pulls the current number from your iPhone and enters the new number on your Apple ID.

Remove your phone number

If you don't want calls or messages for your iPhone on your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, you can remove your phone number. There are two ways to do this:

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Select your Apple ID and tap Sign Out. Then go to Settings > FaceTime, select your Apple ID and tap Sign Out.
  • If the phone number that you want to remove belongs to an iPhone that you can't access, change your Apple ID password. This removes all phone numbers from your iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. Calls or messages for the removed numbers won't appear on those devices anymore.

If you have questions, contact Apple Support.

Take care!

Hi Sterling,

Its also cannot do like you says. Actually my phone problem is "Cannot add new trusted phone number'

I do go to > setting > my account > password & security > Edit - Trusted Phone Number

There have only one my old phone number (I don't use right now). I would to add new phone number. That's why I do Tap 'Edit'. Then "Add a Trusted Phone Number" Then I fill my country origin (Myanmar) and my number. Then Tap 'Send'. But, I haven't received "Verification Code" from anywhere. I tried more than 15 days. But, it can't.

Can you solve my issues?

Thanks.
