My iPhone XS Max's battery drain

Hello! I have purchased the iphone xs max 64gb and I used it for a day. It didn't last as long as i thought it would. Granted I did use it alot that day from 7am to about 1pm when at that point the battery was 38%. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, I did use the phone heavy but I simply expected it to last longer.

I heard this has a really good battery and that's not what I see so far. So I was wondering if anyone else's xs max battery didnt last the whole day. even after charging it mid day to 70% it still dropped to 40% at the end of the day.

Also when I use the phone during the screen is on, I always notice that the battery percentage drops pretty quickly.

I added a screenshot of my usage at about 1pm when my battery was around the 30%

It has absolutely nothing to do with the battery. It has absolutely nothing to do with the version of iOS on your device. It has everything to do with what your apps were doing. Updating to 12.1.3 appeared to fix it because part of the update process kills all running apps, so whichever app was wasting battery energy was killed and behaved after it was restarted (if you relaunched it). If you had just restarted your phone on the previous version it would have fixed your battery drain also.
