iPhone XS Max Speaker(in the earpiece) issue

I recently bought iPhone XS Max 64gb silver variant, the front speaker near the earpiece stops working after some use. The earpiece works absolutely fine while making and receiving calls, but while playing any media file, only the bottom speaker works not the top one. This issue is now constantly arising on both my iPhones XS Max variants,

to rectify the issue, I have to restart the iPhone every time to make the top speaker work , until it gets back to dead.

Pls help.

I had a good chat for about 40 mins with the apple senior advisor, then made him talk with the local apple authorised service centre employee, upon agreeing , they both confirmed that Apple is well aware of this issue as they have read on the forum about this issue, He told me to do not go for device replacement or restore as it is a software issue. In the meantime just restart the device till Apple launches a fix in the next iOS update. I was also informed by him that is there is an issue with the entire batch, then apple will come up with a replacement program so as to rectify this issue.

It doesn’t sound like the same problem. Some on that thread complain of problems during phone calls also. Ours are during music, YouTube, media or apps with dialogue playback, not during calls that I know of.

If it is the same problem, that means it’s been going since at least iOS 11 and they obviously can’t fix it. This is looking bleak to say the least.

My XS just started doing this today. I’ve had the phone for about 3 weeks. Did an online search, which brought me here. Between this and the charging issue (XS and XS max not charging unless you wake up the phone after plugging it in; happening to a lot of people) this isn’t looking like a terribly smooth launch. Here’s hoping Apple invests more in QA.

The charging issue was fixed very shortly after launch by iOS 12.0.1.

Greetings, I have also a problem with my XS Max 256GB modell( private phone)I experience a very poor quality with the earpiece speaker. I already returned the phone to iCentre (official apple store), received a new one after 2 weeks, I still have the same problem with the new device.

I am using also on a daily basis an iPhone 6(company phone), in this case the earpiece speaker quality is far way better than the XS Max. The quality of the conversation is very clear.

I listen to music via Deezer and airpods, in this case I have no problems, the quality is very good. If I talk on the phone via airpods, I still experience the poor earpiece speaker quality. The quality of the conversation is not clear.

The best way to explain my problem as simpy as possible: its like listening the same song on an old casette player versus listening the same song on a cd player.

It is so annoying, I dont know what to do, I paid 1960 USD for this phone, we have 27% VAT in Hungary.
