Printer Menu Options

Using Mojave on MacBook Pro and iMac, the printer menu fails to give options for draft quality print or the option of using black & white or color ink. The preset menu offers draft or normal print but the quality seems to be normal quality on both and both use color ink. I have installed, deleted, reinstalled the printer not using air...whatever it is. No change to the menu. Interestingly, I do get the full print menu with all the options when using Microsoft Word for Mac. Any suggestions on how to get the options back for Pages and printing?

Draft mode, black & white, or color selection is a function of your currently installed printer driver — not the application, or Apple's print framework. If these capabilities do not appear in the Printer Features, then either you need an updated Canon Driver for this printer, or the vendor did not implement the desired functionality for this printer model in the current version of macOS.

Sorry it took so long to reply to your help. I contacted Canon and they said that Apple changed some of the settings in the print menu creating the printer features option rather than an easier to use interface. I'm not sure if there is a solution to this other than buying a new printer. I cannot afford to print everything in normal mode--I need draft. I am using Mojave.

It does depend on which Canon printer you are using. I have 3 Canon printers & each one has different options. The newest, a Canon iX6800 series, does list Draft under Printer Features > Quality. The Canon MX9200 series has a similar menu but has "Fast" rather than Draft. My Canon laser printer does not have a Quality menu but I did find an option for "Toner Saver" to be on or off.
