iPhone XS Max Video Connection Issue

I have an Alpine car stereo and when I try and connect to it using Carplay using the Lightning Connectoror to watch YouTube using an HDMI connection all I get is a blank screen. I can hear the sounds coming out of my truck speakers just no image. I also have trouble connecting to my AppleTV 4K when using screen mirroring; I would choose the device and for a moment the image would show up on the tv but the streaming would never start, the spinning loading circle would just keep running.

My iPhone X works just fine with everything mentioned above and it also has IOS 12.0 installed. Is this a software fix or do I just return the XS Max and wait until next year?

I ended up replacing the unit and all is good now. They even places a new screen protector on for free.

The Apple store in Los Gatos California verified my findings. They ran a hardware test; everything passed, they connected it up to a TV; no video, they connected it up using an HDMI connection; still no video. The phone functions great as a standalone but who needed that.

I have always had the best experience at this branch.

P.S.

The The Apple Store next to the main campus does not troubleshoot or repair any of its items...go figure! You would think you would get the best support.
