Flex mode. Flex mode is off but it keeps turning itself on every time i record a guitar track on logic

I’m new to Logic, having come from Ableton to this, i’m pretty overwhelmed but mostly by the small things that i don’t have a clue how to fix.

I’m recording a guitar track, 4 to be exact, and every time i record the clip, Polyphonic Flex mode will snap everything out of time. I’ll need to double click on the track header and turn off flex mode for each clip, but when i record the next, the same thing happens. Or sometimes a clip that i’ve manually turned off, turns back on.

Flex mode isn’t on - either of the buttons. I’ve also Edit/ Remove Original Tempo etc etc.

I’m loosing my mind. Am i missing something?

As someone with experience in both DAWs, I can say that Live has time-stretching nailed to the tee. Logic had Flex time introduced only relatively recently. And it's not very intuitive, to say the least. I suppose, what might be happening in your case is that your project's Smart Tempo is set to automatically enable Flex for newly recorded audio regions. Check the Smart Tempo settings in File > Project Settings > Smart Tempo (see screenshot):
