since upgrading to Mojave I can't move files within finder. How can I do it?

Since i upgraded to Mojave I can't move files within finder. I've been doing it with ever other version of Mac OS. How can I get this ability back? It's really tiresome having to copy, paste, and delete constantly.

My problem is solved and may have just been restarting. When I queried files properties, it claimed I was not the owner but I could designate myself as owner, which I did; but that didn't help. When the finder started having other problems with disk images, I restarted and all the problems were fixed.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan. also Sierra

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
