How to Erase & Disable Find my iPhone on iCloud for iPhone that won't Power on

Looking for advice on how to Erase and Disable Find my iPhone via iCloud for a Dead iPhone.

I can log into iCloud fine, Then go to Find my iPhone and select my iPhone, when I select Erase it says that it will be erased when it next connect's to the Internet. As I am sending the phone back for replacement, I will not have the phone when it eventually gets fixed and connected to the Internet, however I need to remove the device from iCloud after it has been Erased but I do not appear to be able to do remove it until it has been fully erased !

Any advice on how to resolve this would be much appreciated !

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for replying to my message, I understand that a dead phone can’t be erased, however my concern is that if I trade it in for a refurbished iPhone and it gets fixed, will the repairer be able to acces any data I had on my phone. I have the option “delete from account” when logged into iCloud when the device is selected.

If I select “delete from account” will this remove my phone from find my iPhone ?

I’m just concerned that if someone refurbishes my dead phone my data will be accessible!

Thanks Again !
