Anyone help with Mojave videos playing in fast forward only? Not using Flash. iMac Pro (2017) Happens if I use Quicktime or if in Safari, on any website. Thanks for ideas.

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try from there. If they play as they should reboot normally an test again.
So, it appears a reset of nvram (see apple support article on how to do it--Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support) fixes this problem for me--looks like permanently.
Upgraded to 10.14.1 last night. Issue on fast forwarding videos seems to be resolved.🙂
Just wanted you to know, if you rest nvram (Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support) It may fix the problem. Appears to be a hardware error the nvram reset fixes. Seems permanent.
I did test this problem against others accounts (same result), but forgot about safe mode. Thanks. So, apparently, the video settings is taking the last settings remembered from some non-apple app. Safe mode disrupts that and does a reset. Wonder what app is doing that? looked through .plists for library and my library, didn't see anything obvious. Oh, well, it will remain a mystery. Thanks again
Unfortunately, I selected "Solved" too soon. Rebooting in Safe mode did work--TEMPORARILY. Videos starting fast forwarding again after about 5 minutes--in safe mode! Any thoughts. This happens across across all accounts on the iMac Pro (2017) Any comments would be appreciated
UGH!! I am having the EXACT same issue ...I am also using Mojave.... on an iMac Pro. After I restart the computer the problem goes away temporarily... but then starts up again a short while afterwards 😟
😠Unfortunately, the problem has returned. Still immediately fast forward plays any embedded video, now on MacOS 10.14.1
