Can I block non-contact calls but still get app notifications?

Hi,

I used to get about 1 robo / spam call every other day, but this is now up to about 2 or 3 per day. I am still trying to filter out these calls, but the do not disturb feature, which is excellent for that, also blocks the app notifications. I need the app notifications to display actually.

Does anybody know if there is an advanced setting to put all calls from callers that are not in my contacts, or even favorites, directly to voicemail without ringing, but at the same time still lets all the app notifications that are pretty much under control at the app level to go through? (email, news, facebook, instagram notifications are all OK all the time for example).

This would solve the issue of repeated interruptions from spam callers. People calling with a legitimate reason usually leave a voicemail. Robo calls / real person spam callers usually hang up when they get voicemail greetings.
