Left Shift Key doesn't work MacBook Air

I read somewhere on Apple Support that SMC reset will solve this issue. Yes, it did solve for a while, but the problem appeared again. I had to SMC-reset at least once a day. When I monitor the key itself by the Keyboard Viewer, the left shift key sometimes not working but sometime it is working. It doesn't look like mechanical problem but software problem.

There are many thread about this issue on Apple support. I hope Apple will find solution to fix this soon.

You are welcome. Try some further isolation tests.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Thanks, Eric. I waited holding those key for NVRAM reset until I heard the 3rd opening sound. It seemed to solve at first, but it didn't. After a few minutes of using it, left shift key is dead. However, now I'm realizing that when pressed the left shift key for a couple of seconds, it started to work normally. Any suggestion on this?

Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.

I tested Safe Mode first because I encountered the problem at log in as well. I did not try creating another user account. Safe Mode solved the problem. I rebooted this morning in normal mode, and no problem for about 9 hours.
