Why is messages running so slow on Mojave. I get the spinning beachball all the time now....
It takes forever to bring it up and it seems to have to start afresh every times I invoke it.

Go to Contacts and then it's Preferences and Accounts and restrict the Active accounts to one account.
Does this speed things up ?

I will add this for the apple developers... before the upgrade I had a ton of problems with my Mac saying that messages were not sent that actually were sent and now the messages app takes almost a minute to pull up.
I have the same issue. Beach ball, slowness etc.
I only have the one account active. Unfortunately no help there.
I have this question too
