Require passcode to shut down phone

Greetings!

Motivated by the recent theft of a close family member’s iPhone in broad daylight, I’d like to start a movement to demand that Apple modify its iOS to REQUIRE the passcode prior to shutting down an iPhone.

If you require it after every restart and every two days of using just TouchID, why not also prior to shutting down or restarting? It seems like a minor nuisance to a genuine owner, but would put a HUGE damper on thieves looking to make a buck picking someone’s pocket.

Apple, I implore you: make passcodes required to shut down and restart an iOS device!!!

Thank you,

Natalia

1. I use an 8-digit passcode for security purposes AND I'm very careful about not losing my phone. Such protection wouldn't benefit me in the slightest.

2. I don't ever shut down my iPhone as a matter of course but I do whenever an app is acting up. Entering the passcode twice would be a PIA.

3. It wouldn't solve your concern because the bad guys would simply find another solution.
