When I insert a blank CD or DVD it doesn't appear in the Finder

After upgrading to Mojave, blank CDs or DVDs do not appear in the Finder when I insert them into my external drive. This wasn't an issue with Sierra. I checked the settings and they appear correct. It does show up in Disk Utilities but I can't do anything with it. Any CDs or DVDs already formatted do appear but I need to be able to burn new ones. Any thoughts?

Apparently it's a known bug in Mojave. You can still burn disks by selecting a folder of files, right clicking on it and choosing to burn the folder to the disc. Something like that. I don't have a DVD/CD drive to check.
