Lightening Digital AV adapter (HDMI) not working with iOS 12

I switched from standard zoom to zoomed under Display settings. It worked temporarily. I'm back to the hdmi adapter not working..it's a hit or miss but that's the way it was even before changing the view settings so IDK ... so tired of trying to figure out what the problem is and Apple has no answers neither do cell phone repair shops Ive been to two of them.

I am currently still operating my I 8 on iOS 11.4. without any problems. My other phone which is an I 7 is having the same problems you are. I am trying all the options and waiting to see which one shows long term promise. So far I have rebooted the phone and then changed zoom function. The reboot only worked temporarily. The zoom worked but I was forever to stop streaming due to outside circumstances. Let you know what happen tomorrow.

I’m having the same issue after doing the update. Were you able to figure anything out?

Unfortunately the iPhone X doesn’t have the standard or zoom option. Anyone figure anything else out to get this working again?

My Lightning>HDMI adapter suddenly started working. Then the TV image scaled down to half size. And now it doesn’t work at all. I have AirPlay set for mirroring. Are any of these adapters working right? Or is it an iOS-12 glitch?

My iPhone 8 Plus and iPad Air 2 both don’t work with the adapter they are both on iOS 12.1 and I doesn’t matter if i have the display zoom on or not. Sometimes I can get it to mirror on the screen but only for a few seconds and then I cuts out. Sometimes it shows up in settings>general>about but not all the time.

I bought a third party adapter that didn’t work on any device so bought legit Apple adapter for three times the price - still doesn’t work!

Come on @Apple this MUST be a common issue - looking at the Google device as Apple just don’t seem to care I’m afraid...

None of these things work. Something changed with iOS 12! I am a professional speaker and I have used VGA and HDMI adaptors for years with all of my Apple devices. Now, these will not work. @Apple knows this is the case. When is this issue going to be fixed?

I have the same problem. The HDMI adaptor used to be working for my iPad2. But once I have turned off screen mirror, I am not longer able to detect the adaptor/ SonyTV. I have already tried to factory reset my iPad, but it doesn’t work. Cannot one know how to reconnect the adaptor after disconnect? Thanks.

We are still having an issue after trying out all these solutions with an Iphone8 (and an Ipad air). We are not using an Apple adapter but one we bought at Amazon. We have iOS 12.0.1. Any one have any other solutions to try?

Terrible terrible terrible I reach Apple support finally with this issue then they pawn me off on Mitsubishi the maker of my TV then I get told my TV won’t do this when I have done it more than twice with the same app on the same TV the same adapter everything then they hang up on me after telling me it’s impossible and I’ve done it before!!! apple does not care they think they’re too big SAD

if I can find so many threads and conversations about this problem, you can’t tell me Apple isn’t big enough to have someone looking at these problems and giving us some kind of help/feedback something!! I think they’ve gotten so big they think they don’t need to
