Removing Play Search Now

Hi there,

I have tried all of the fixes proposed on this site and none of them have successfully removed the unwanted and unintentionally downloaded Play Search Now browser from my MacBook Pro 2017 running 10.13.6. I have tried using Malwarebytes, run it in Safe Boot, removed everything it found, restarted my computer, and done that a number of times. I have looked through my Applications and have found nothing suspicious, and there are no Extensions. I have reset my homepage and my browser multiple times, but this unwanted browser is still there. What now?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, 2 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

I had the SAME PROBLEM - I've been working on it for a couple of days. I FINALLY found the answer that worked for me! Under Safari Preferences - choose General and then be sure "New windows open with" is set to "homepage" rather than anything to do with "tabs". They apparently have added a new bookmark that directs the homepage to open with playsearchnow. Hope it helps.
