Serial number not available Unable to obtain IMAC serial number to get help. IMAC recovery does not list installation disks to install OS system. Used command R when powering up, Disk Utility lists Internal Drive and disk 2 for Mac OS X base system. Install OS X mountain lion does not show any disks to select for installation.

Apple, Tell me which OS' my Mac will run Over the last month, I have wasted a huge amount of time trying to upgrade my 13" Macbook Pro. I went to the extreme of creating an SSD with multiple copies of 10.12.6 (which runs) and uphgrading them indicidually to see which version of OS would run without disrupting my existing environmengt. Why did I do this? Because statements like "runs on 13" Macbook Pro after mid 2012" are not helpful.! I want t be able to plug my serial number into a web-page form and be told which versions of OS run it. Oh, as for the model number? I don't mean "MacBookPro9,2", there is another number that is used, usually starting with A. Please Apple, provide information that saves time. The simplest solution for me has been to run s/w that will not run under OS 10.12.6 under a Windows 10 image under Parallels. But, the amount of time I have wasted is inordinate!

iOS 12 is for iPhones, iPads and iPod touches. It won't install on any Mac.

that serial number points to a Mac pro late 2013. 6 processors, 3.5GHz. All are qualified to run up to and including the latest version, Mojave.

For the benefit of ragphoto Mojave means macOS 10.14. Mojave maOS 10.14 is the current latest version of macOS. As far as I can see the Mac Pro 2013 you appear to have can run versions of macOS from Mavericks 10.9.1, through Yosemite 10.10.x, El Capitan 10.11.x, Sierra 10.12.x, High Sierra 10.13.x and as mentioned Mojave 10.14

As IdrisSeabright points out iOS only runs on iPhone and iPad devices.
