Image Capture won't open

I use a MacBook Pro: 15-inch, Mid 2012, 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i7, 16 GB, High Sierra version 10.13.6.

My Image Capture will not open. It gives the following error message: You can't open the application "Image Capture" because it is being updated.

This happened a couple weeks ago with iTunes, and I was able to just download iTunes again no problem. However, downloading Image Capture isn't as friendly a process...

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Try rebuilding the Image Capture preference:

From your Finder "Go" menu > "Go to folder" then copy & paste this file path:

~/Library/Preferences/com.Image_Capture.plist

Click Go.

Delete the plist file.

Then restart or log out and in again.
