How much of the battery has charged when off

I recently bought the Iphone 6 and noticed that when I charge it and it's powered down or turned off it does not show the battery as charging or how much of the battery has charged like in an Android phone or my iPhone5 where when you turn off your phone and charge the Battery sign comes up displaying the percentage as the battery gets charged.

P.S I am aware of the Battery percentage viewing aspect available but that only works when the phone is powered up as in when the phone is turned on.

Would appreciate an insight as to whether IPhones as a thumbrule Do not display Battery charge percentage when turned off and charged or Should I be concerned ?

Thanks in advance

iPhone 6, iOS 12.0.1

Greetings, howiechips.

I see that you're wondering how much the battery has been charged when you've set it to charge and have turned it off. You're asking because you're not seeing the battery icon on the display, and I'm happy to help.

Charge and monitor the iPhone battery -- An iPhone needs to be on while it's being charged. You can engage the lock screen when you don't want to see the display, but the battery icon will appear in the upper-right corner on the Home screen or lock screen to show the charge level. You can make sure it's enabled by going Settings > Battery, then turn on Battery Percentage.

Take care!
