Iphone SE not showing battery sign when charging

Normal behaviour is as follows

If iPhone is off when you plug in charger it will turn on.

If you turn it off it will not show any symbol

The only time it shows a large red battery symbol is if it is flat and the phone had turned itself off.

On iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad, and iPod touch (7th generation), you can see the battery percentage in the status bar. Go to Settings > Battery and turn on Battery Percentage.

Readmy reply I just explained that - it only happens when you plug in a phone that has run out of charge. After a while it turns back on.
