IT USED TO BE SO EASY to create books, calendars, prints, slideshows, etc. What happened to USER FRIENDLY Mac products?

I am not interested in adding extra software from god knows where and who created the software when it used to be all packaged neatly in one program.

The whole suite of MAC products has moved from user friendly to "Let's **** you off and remove great features and make things difficulty for you!"

Who was the brain that thought this was a good idea vs keeping the software books, calendars, prints, slideshows, etc. and allow for 3rd party extensions IF YOU WANTED THEM?

I can understand the disappointment. The current project extensions are not yet a full replacement for the discontinued print projects.

  • There is not a single project extension that allows us to create a book, card, calendar in Photos to print ourselves or to save it as a PDF to enjoy it and show off on our iPads or to share with friends and family. I created most of my photo books as PDFs to use as a slideshow with captions and comments. All all available project extensions are meant for purchasing print products and not suitable to create PDFs for sharing and viewing.
  • We could use the book pages as a light table to compare photos side-by-side, which is still not possible in Photos, and the old work-around now no longer works.
  • We can no longer work off-line when creating a book. So we cannot use the free time during a long flight or when commuting to get started on a book, or when we are traveling abroad without affordable internet.

The Mimeo Project extension has become a lot easier to use during the last month, but the page to order a book is still not working properly. It recognizes that I am located in Germany and fills in Germany as the country, but the address format is wrong for Germany. I cannot even type in the name of the city. It is abbreviated to three letters, like a code for the state.
