phone dialer freezes

After I upgraded my iPhone 8 to IOS 12.0.1, phone dialer freezes and I cannot get to recent calls or vm or dial a number.

anyone else have this issue?

telephone not working From time to time over the past couple of months, my phone (telephone app) freezes. I can't change from the keypad to VM, etc., can't make calls. Other apps continue to work. Powering off and back on fixes it, but is this indicative of anything in particular? Any recommended fixes? iPhone 6 16GB (6.39 available) iOS 12.4.5

I have the exact same problem on my SE. I took my issue to the “genius” bar and within 30 seconds they were attempting to sell me a new iPhone. Why the **** would I buy a new phone when I love this one. This is not a phone issue. It is software.
