This is a user-to-user forum. We can't fix anything. Also, the problem is with your phone, not with 12.0.1. So Apple can't fix it unless you take your phone to an Apple store. Make an appointment first: Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Alternatively, you can try some basic troubleshooting and probably fix it yourself in a few minutes. As a start go to Settings/Battery and see which app is using all that energy.

You might also try restarting iOS, under the fundamental principle "when in doubt, reboot." Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

There's more to try if neither of these fixes it, but get the simple stuff out of the way first.

You better get your facts straight before rushing to defend Apple and provide bogus advice! There are lots of people complaining all over the internet of excessive power drain after updating to iOS 12.0.1. Just a few examples I found by performing a simple search:

After 12.0.1 update battery drain is high

Many people's phones, including my own iPhone 6s, have a battery health indicator of more than 80% battery capacity available, which used to easily provide 1 to 2 days of light usage. In my case, after performing the update, the battery will drop from 100% charge to 60% within a few hours, without actually using the phone, just letting it sit idle on my desk with the screen off! And this is after disabling various power-hungry features such as background app refresh.

Are you seriously suggesting that the batteries of all these phones have gone bad overnight, coincidentally after upgrading to iOS 12.0.1? Also, don't you find it suspicious that this update was meant to fix the charging issue of the newly released iPhones that wouldn't always accept charge if they were plugged in while in sleep-mode?

I believe that that Apple rushed to produce the update in order to avoid additional bad publicity on its new devices, without doing proper testing. Hopefully, the issue will be resolved in a future update. I'm not holding my breath though, as there are people still reporting excessive battery drain on iOS 12.1 beta, as well.

Dear Lawrence,

please don't overreach yourself with that absolute anti-user answer. This is typical for corporations, "we have nothing to do with your problem, don't annoy us, come to Apple store, cash and we will help you maybe, otherwise buy our newest iPhone for a ******* lot of money 😀 😀 😀"

There's absolutely no problem with user's phone or battery. There's a big problem in iOS 12, especially the latest **** 12.0.1!!!

After I updated from 12 to 12.0.1, my battery drain in !!!one!!! night from 80% to 15% !!! I have slept! I dont use my phone.

Now I am recharging, and I cannot use messenger!!! I am in battery save mode and the battery as is recharging, is at the same time discharging, as I use wifi and writing on messenger!!!! ***????

There is a big bug in 12.0.1 - or - they do it purposely, to prevent using older iPhones (6S)!!!

Waiting for new release or going back to iOS 11 !!!!!!!

1. I don't work for Apple. NO ONE who posts in this user-to-user forum works for Apple except Community Specialists who answer posts that have gone unanswered for 24 hours. And they have an Apple logo next to their name.

2. My battery life on iOS 12 is BETTER than it was on iOS 11, and my phone is also faster.

3. There is something wrong with YOUR PHONE, not with the release, as several industry benchmarks have been posted on tech web sites that all said that battery life and performance were better on iOS 12 on all devices that iOS 12 runs on. Including 6S.

4. You can't go back to iOS 11. But you CAN fix the battery problem with some basic troubleshooting. If you can't do it make a genius bar appointment. Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

5. Conspiracy theories are so much more fun than facts, aren't they?

So you’re saying that a brand new phone from apple has bad batteries? I don’t think so, you say that everyone loves IOS 12, and that they do, it’s IOS 12.0.1 that is the problem! I had a brand spanking new iPhone, it was brilliant, battery life was More than perfect... battery health was at 100% and the moment I upgraded to IOS 12.0.1 I had battery problems like non other. Phone would drain the battery from 100% to 15% within 3 hours so yea it has everything to do with the fduking upgrade to ios 12.0.1.
