Why is find my location lying about where I was

My sister has my location on and yesterday I came home from a dance and at around 12:25 I knocked out on my couch on the phone with my boyfriend and for some weird reason they notified her that I had left somewhere i had never been at 12:40 she asked me about it but when I told her I was knocked out on the couch she Didn’t believe me idk what to do

Find my iphone My daughter was out with friends today and told me she was in a neighbours, street, but when I checked her phone on the find my iPhone app she was somewhere else. There was no large blue circle to say it was an estimated location. How sharp is this app? Is this a thing or is she trying it on? Thanks
